We Bought A House!

We bought a house in Orem! It's pretty exciting news for us. It's a rambler built in 1978 that we really like. We closed back on August 4th, but the previous owners were building a new house that wasn't done yet, so we didn't take possession of the house until Saturday August 15th. It was a crazy week. That first morning we got the house my dad and Rusty went to work scraping off the old popcorn ceiling in the three bedrooms upstairs. My mom and Kristen came down also to help clean. We had one week to get as much done as we could before we had to be out of the Palmer's basement. It was unfortunate timing that Rusty started school right when we got our house, but during the days Claire, Lily, and I would take several loads over in our car. We'd fill it up as much as possible, and then drop everything off. We got so much done that week thanks to a lot of family members helping us. We were able to paint the whole upstairs, minus the kitchen and bathroom, but since then we have painted the bathroom. The carpet was just put in before it was put up for sale, so we had to be careful not to drip on it. It was an exhausting week, and I neglected my children, but we made it. Since we moved in we have gotten central air conditioning, gotten new gutters in the front and back of the house, installed sprinklers in the backyard and a small section in the front yard, replaced the upstairs doors, planted 3 trees, replaced all the outlets and light switches, bought a new fridge and dresser for Lily's room, and a lot of other small projects. We've spent a lot of time and money at Lowe's. Here are some pictures!
