Claire - 10 Months

August 20th was Claire's 10 months birthday. She is getting so big! It's fun to watch her grow, even though she is still quite petite. She wiggles and crawls all over the place. She has the cutest little giggle and thinks it is so fun to be tossed in the air or lifted up. She is pretty friendly to everyone and doesn't get scared of strangers much, which I am very grateful for. Claire always wants to know what's going on. She likes to be right in the middle of whatever we are working on. If we are doing something that she can't see, she will crawl over and hold of to someone's legs until they lift her up. She is very curious about everything!
Claire's 10 month birthday happened to fall on Keith's 6th birthday. It was very difficult to get a picture of them together.
Claire loves to pull herself up with anything she can reach. She likes to stand up by herself like she is a big girl.
Rusty is hoping she likes to play the guitar as much as he does.
Here's a picture of my parents with Claire and Makenna. They love being grandparents!

Our Trip to Yellowstone

Last weekend my parents, Kristen, Rusty, Claire, and I went up to Ashton, Idaho to visit the Judy family. On Friday, August 9th, we went up to Yellowstone for the day. We saw a lot of neat things in the park. Our first stop was at Gibbon Falls. It was a bit chillier than we thought, so Rusty put Claire in his jacket. She loved it.
Me at Gibbon Falls.
After that we went to Steamboat Geyser.
Here we are with the Bugers.
This beautiful blue water is called Emerald Spring.
After that the seven of us walked down the many switchbacks to Lower Falls to see the big waterfall in the Yellowstone River.
This is the view from Lower Falls.
We stopped at Artist Point to see a different view of the waterfall. Claire loved her backpack ride.
Janette and my dad at Artist Point.
My mom, me, Rusty, and Claire at Artist Point.
The view at Artist Point.
We got in a big buffalo traffic jam while driving around.
We stopped at Fishing Bridge.
We saw Mud Volcano.
Right by that was Dragon's Breath Cave.
Claire loves when Rusty gives her shoulder rides.
Old Faithful was going off as we were driving into the parking lot. We could see it a little bit from the car, but we still got out and walked around by it anyway.
Here we are by Old Faithful. Please notice Andrew jumping in the background at just the right moment.
Kristen and Claire discovered that they love Veggie Straws.
Claire liked riding around in the car at the Judy's.
We went on some rides on Curt's motorcycle.
On Saturday we went shooting. Rusty and Andrew were quite excited to go. They cleaned my dad and Grandpa Wilson's old guns that hadn't been used in 30+ years.
It was quite warm. We used what little shade we could find to watch from.
We girls weren't thrilled about shooting, but we were good sports and came along and shot some of the guns. We each even had a turn with the big 12 gauge shotgun. My arm was too wimpy to hold it for very long.
My dad is holding his old gun that he got when he was 16, and Rusty is holding my Grandpa Wilson's gun.
Kristen did Claire's hair in many little braids. It looked awesome. The next day it was crimpy.
Later on Saturday my parents and Janette and Curt went golfing. Apparently my mom is a crazy golf cart driver.
That night we hooked up the Wii to their projector and did Just Dance.
Even the parents joined in on the fun.
Andrew and Rusty had some awesome duet dances.
On Sunday after church Rusty slicked Claire's hair back. Kristen had to use a lot of product for her braids the day before. She looked like Dracula.

Makenna's Baby Blessing

Chris and Cara blessed Makenna on August 4th. We were fortunate enough to attend. We got some excellent family photos taken that day.
This picture is from a few weeks ago. Claire and Makenna had matching outfits.
