Claire's First Birthday

It was Claire's first birthday on Sunday, October 20th. On Saturday night we celebrated with Rusty's family by having cake and ice cream at Jon and Crystals' house.
She wasn't that into eating the cake.
I thought it would be fun to get a picture of Claire first thing in the morning on her birthday. So before I went into her room to get her I grabbed the camera. This is what I found. She closed her eyes right when I took the picture. She has crazy hair.
Here's the birthday girl before church on her birthday.
Sunday evening my parents, Kristen, Cara, Chris, and Makenna came over for dinner. Then Claire opened her presents. She loved her new doll and outfits from my mom and dad.

Claire's favorite present was the tissue paper.
Claire was kind of tired by the time we had cupcakes.
She loved the frosting but didn't eat much of the cake.
This picture is from a couple weeks ago, but I had to add it because it was her first time having a ponytail, and I thought it was so cute.
It was a lot of fun to celebrate Claire's birthday. Rusty and I have been talking, and we can't believe we've had her for a whole year. It's gone by fast. She is getting to be more fun everyday! Claire went to the doctor on Tuesday for her 12 month visit. This is how big she is now:
Height: 28 inches (15th percentile)
Weight: 16 lbs. 9 oz. (7th percentile)
Head: 17.5 inches (10th percentile)

Park City

My family decided to go on a little staycation to Park City. We went up Friday afternoon and came back Saturday afternoon. My parents got us these fancy hotel/condos to stay in. It wasn't a really long trip, but it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately we found out Claire gets motion sick on the drive up. While we were in Provo Canyon she threw up. Luckily on our way home she slept through the canyon.
On Saturday we went on the Alpine Coaster. My mom was kind and watched the babies so the rest of us could go on the ride.
Here we are in line for the Alpine Coaster.
We walked up and down Main Street in Park City.
Then we had lunch at Davanza's.
We walked across this neat bridge on our way back to the cars from lunch.
Park City was a great time. I'm so glad my parents planned this fun trip for all of us to go on.

Our New Home

About a month ago we moved down to Orem. Rusty is now teaching at Summit High, which is in Orem, and he also has another job in Provo helping adults with disabilities. He commuted for a month to these jobs until we found our new apartment. We live in a basement, and there is a very nice family who lives above us and owns the house. We really like it a lot. It's perfect for our little family. Here are some pictures of the new place.

Claire loves to go up and down these stairs. They lead to a locked door, so she is the only one who uses them.

Onion Days

This year on Labor Day we went down to Payson for Onion Days. Sunday night Rusty was so nice to me and went to the band concert. His parents and Jenn and her kids came with us.
On Monday morning all of Rusty's family got together to have breakfast before the parade. The grand kids had a good time playing on the tramp before we walked over to the parade.
Jenn got some fake mustaches. We had a good time with them during the parade. Even Claire got to wear one.
Here is Claire on her 11 month birthday, which was September 20th. She was being very difficult and would not sit still while I tried to take a picture. These are the best pictures that I got.
