Summer Recap

Before the past couple of weeks we hadn’t blogged in a really long time, but I feel like we did a lot of wonderful things this summer. This can be our summer recap post of all the fun things we did.

I walked at graduation on May 7th. I graduated back in December, but it was good to have the satisfaction of walking after all my hard work.

My sister Cara got married on June 2nd to the lovely Chris Walters. It was a fun filled day!

The Mendenhall family had their annual summer vacation at the end of June. We all stayed in these big, fancy cabins in Island Park. We drove into Yellowstone while we were there. We sure saw a lot of geysers!

July 14-17 we had the 6th annual Wilson Whoopee up in Ashton, Idaho. We all got matching shirts this year. We went on a lovely hike by Mesa Falls, did a craft while the men went golfing, floated down the Snake River, had a search party for Rusty’s missing wedding ring (it was found by Andrew!), had a pool party at the Ashton pool, and had a Rook tournament. It was another successful year with the Wilson Family!

For my dad’s birthday, which is the 24th of July, we went cosmic bowling. It was a great time. That weekend Cara, my dad, Rusty, and I went on a hike up Little Cottonwood Canyon to Red Pine Lake. It was really snowy the last bit of the hike. But on the way down it was lots of fun because we slid down the snow. It was like we were skiing.

Rusty was so nice to go on a hike with me the last weekend in July up Logan Canyon. We hiked up to the Crimson Trail. It was super steep!

On August 4-6 my family and my Uncle Charlie’s family all went up to the Uintas to camp at Washington Lake. It rained the first evening, but after that the weather was great. We went on the Lofty Lake Loop hike. We also stopped and had a picnic at the Provo River Falls. It was a really fun time!

True Aggie...Fail

Last Friday was Homecoming and we are slowly starting to realize that our time up here at Utah State is coming to an end. So we decided to finally become True Aggies. Ashley fell asleep around 10:30 but I stayed awake. So I woke her up and we headed up to Old Main. There were a ton of people there. Mostly annoying Freshmen. Mostly single. We endured and at midnight...nothing. We waited for a few more minutes kissed each other anyway and went home to bed. Midnight is much too late for us, but we got this nice picture on the Old Main steps.

First Day of School

Last Monday Rusty started his last first day of school! If all goes according to plan he will graduate in May! We are very excited. Can't you tell from the excited look on his face?
