Park City

Last weekend my family went to Park City to have a little vacation. We were there from the 24-25. We went to Park City last year during October, and it was so much fun we decided to go again. My parents were very generous and found a condo for us to all stay in together, and they bought us some delicious meals. We got to stay at The Lodge at Mountain Village. On Friday night after we checked in we were able to walk over to Baja Cantina and enjoy some tasty Mexican food. That night Claire and Makenna wanted to go swimming, The pool was a little cold so those that did want to swim sat in the hot tub instead since it wasn't super hot. I unfortunately don't fit into any of my swim suits, so I waded my feet in the hot tub.
We played some fun games after swimming and after the babies went to bed.
In the morning we made breakfast at the condo. It was quite a deluxe meal. We played several rounds of Jenga after breakfast. I don't remember that game being so intense when I was younger.

Makenna and Claire had a good time eating Vanilla Wafers together on the stairs.
After we checked out of the condo we rode the free bus over to Main Street. We walked around and went into a few shops.
Claire got sick of being in her stroller, and after a while she got out and wanted to push Kermit herself. After that we couldn't get her to go back in her stroller for the rest of the time on Main Street.
Our last adventure on the trip was lunch at Main Street Pizza & Noodle. We had two very yummy pizzas.
I'm very glad my parents planned this trip. It was a lot of fun to spend time all together!

Happy 2nd Birthday to Claire

Claire had a fun filled birthday weekend. On Saturday evening (the 18th) we went down to Rusty's parents' house to celebrate Claire and Alex's birthdays. Alex's birthday was that day. We got to sing to them, Claire was a bit overwhelmed by all the people, but it was fun to see everyone. Rusty's parents got her a cute bat girl dress-up outfit.
On Sunday we had dinner at my parents' house, and then Claire opened presents from them. She got a lot of cute clothes, pajamas, a book, and some blocks. My Grandma Hurst was very kind and got her a book and some hair clips.
She was really excited about her Minnie Mouse pajamas from my parents because she has Minnie Mouse shoes.
Claire's favorite present from her birthday are her blocks. She plays with them everyday and likes to carry around the bag they came in.
Then we sang happy birthday to her, but unfortunately part way through the song she burst into tears.
She was able to recover and blow out her candles.
Claire and me on her birthday.
On Monday the 20th, Claire's actual birthday, she got to open a few presents from Rusty and me.
She really likes her new magnedoodle.
The happy birthday girl!

Claire's Toe Surgery

A week ago today Claire had minor surgery on her third toe on her left foot. Her second and third toe were criss crossed. Those toes have been curly since she was very little. The doctor made a small incision under her third toe and cut one of the tendons. Now all of her toes are straight.
She was very sad and weary about all the things at the hospital. She hated getting dressed in her hospital pajamas. But she got to play in the toy room for a little bit while we waited for her surgery so that cheered her up a little.
Her shirt tied in the back.
They gave Claire some anxiety medicine through her nose so she wouldn't be as sad when they took her from me. It took effect after only a few minutes and made her sleepy. She had to have the medicine in the wagon so they could wheel her away once the medicine kicked in and she was relaxed.
The hardest part about this surgery was that Claire couldn't eat anything that whole morning. Surgery wasn't until 12:30 or so. Once we got home she was able to take a nap and then eat after. She was much happier then. The next day she was back to her regular self except that she had a little limp. It lasted for a few days. Even now when we ask her how her toes are she says they hurt, but she doesn't act like they hurt, so I think she's just saying that as her automatic answer. She was really good at keeping her foot wrapped up. We had to keep the bandages on for four days, and she didn't try and pick it off. I was quite worried about that before the surgery. Now we'll be able to paint all of her toe nails since we can see them all!

The Alpine Loop

On October 7th we decided to drive the Alpine Loop. The fall leaves were very pretty. Last year we drove the loop and Claire got car sick and threw up. We thought it would be better this year now that she has a forward facing car seat, but about half way through she started to get a little sick. Luckily there was no throw up this year. We made a few stops along the way to get some fresh air, and it was a good time for all of us.
Also, on October 11th I reached 32 weeks. Two months to go!
